We need to be imitator of our heavenly Father.

We need to be imitator of our heavenly Father.
: Ephesian 5:1-2
:1 John 2:6
As a human being Jesus action word was that we need to follow.
Being a disciple of Jesus is a lifelong journey towards conforming ourselves to the image and way of life that Jesus taught.
1.      WITHDRAW
Ø  Luke 5:12-16- withdrew ourselves from worldly matter & spent time with God
                                                        i.             It is important to spend time alone with God in order to know Him more. When we spend time with God, we experience a freedom to express ourselves to Him and we allow Him to speak with us directly through His Word (the Bible) and through prayer.
ii.            As believers, we are able to spend time alone with God. And, realizing how much God has loved us, we will desire to spend time alone with Him
iii.            It is important to spend time alone with God because God is the source of our strength and we need His strength to fight the spiritual battles of our lives
iv.            Mark 11:29,32; Mark 1:35- withdraw from the distraction & spend time with God in prayer.
                                                      v.            Spending time alone with God rids our minds of distraction so that we can focus on Him and hear His Word. Abiding in Him, we enjoy the intimacy to which He calls us and come to truly know Him.
vi.            Colossians 1:2-4 The secret to an open door when we pray.

Word of God

Word of God
·         Ezekiel 3:1-9 è Word of God is Sweet as Honey
Ø  God wanted Ezekiel to live on the insights and knowledge that God’s word provides. And the same is true for you. If you are going to live God’s way, then you should be feasting on God’s word every day. Just having it on the shelf won’t do it. You need to read it. You need to study it. You need to meditate on it. God’s Word provides you with spiritual nutrition.
Ø  Ezekiel is not the only one God has commissioned. He has also called us to share his word with others, who are not willing to listen, harden and obstinate, rebellious people. We are to continue the work Jesus did while he was on earth.
·         Joshua 1:7-9 è true success is KNOWING & DOING what God says.
Ø  prosperous & successful
Ø  strong & courageous
Ø  not be afraid
Ø  not be discouraged
Ø  The lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

1.    Word of God is divine - 2 Timothy 3:16

§  God’s word is the best instruction manual in our hand written by the author of life.
§  When word of God cones in our life-
                                      i.        Though we are imperfect becomes perfect
ii.        Though we are impure becomes pure
§  Start speaking word of God in your situation. It performs a radical surgery in us.

2.    Word of God is Alive- Matthew 5:18

§  word of God is alive it will accomplish that which it is set forth to do. It is everlasting it will not change and nothing can change it.

3.    Word of God is active - 1 Peter 1:23

§  Word of God always accomplishes Gods purpose with divine power. It is not passive or lacking in energy. The word has divine force and is unstoppable by any human or satanic effort.

4.    Word of God is unstoppable- Jeremiah 23:29

§  God’s word is divinely sharp and nothing can prevent it from piercing through the shields and defenses that we have. It penetrates all the way through to where soul and spirit meet, to where joints and marrow come together.
§  It gets to the very heart of a person. There is nothing superficial or indifferent about Gods word. It performs radical surgery on us.
§  2 Chronicles 16:9 - God is eagerly and aggressively seeking to work for those who wait for him.
§  James 1:22 - but just don't listen to Gods word. You must do what it says.

CAST THY BURDEN UPON THE LORD

Psalms 55:22 è “CAST THY BURDEN UPON THE LORD”
·         Psalms 55:1 è What David said that We’re not to doubt God! How easy it is for us to doubt when trouble comes upon us. But doubting God does not give us relief from our burdens.
·         David was going through a difficult time. Absalom plotted rebellion against his father king David.
·         Psalms 55:3-8 è David was in fear, terrified. David was in the depths of despair. A desire to escape the burden will not help us in our burden-bearing.
·         David was losing hope.
·         David was running from his trouble.
·         His gracious words to the saints are in 1 Pet. 5:7

WHEN YOU CAST YOUR BURDEN UPON THE LORD,
1.    God owns your problem. James 4:7 è Let the Lord carry the burden for you! Since the burden is too heavy for you, give it to the Lord to carry. The word cast literally means “to fling or hurl.” It requires and denotes action and effort.
2.    God is in the center of your problem.
3.    My opponents are playing against the Lord. Exodus 14:13, God is advocating your problem, God is fighting your battle.
4.    Proverbs 16:33 è God is going to determine the outcome of my burden.
5.    Matthew 11:28 è God will give you rest from your burden.
