Depression puts you in helpless and bad
situation. Depression may be linked with stress, grief, disappointment, anger, negativity, guilt,
fear.

A number of people in the Bible struggled with
feelings of depressions, such as Job, Moses, David, Jeremiah and Jonah.
Ø
Elijah also felt like dying during a down time
in his life [1 King 19:1-4]. the
experience of the prophet Elijah give us HOPE in the
face of depression.
Ø
Elijah was so depressed that he wanted to die. God didn’t judge him for his depressed feelings but he did
send him some appropriate treatment to help him out.

he gets the boldness? >
Boldness came due to god’s word >
he prayed a prophetic prayer for spiritual reason.

He had word that gave him boldness, courage,
appointment that opens the door to declare the word of god.

He prayed for No rain so people can cry out to
The Lord & he can build the alter of The Lord

people, and to purify their heart

1 king 18:38 – 39 >the revival

If you have big challenge in your life, that
challenge actually provided a huge platform for God to show up with a huge
performance of His power.

That huge challenge you’re facing right now -
God didn’t bring it or allow it to hurt you. It’s there to provide a platform on
which He can show up to bring victory for you in a way that you and those who
know you will never forget.

did not make to hide people's weakness, God made everybody equal.

Elijah
was discovering once again the down-side to successful ministry ... opposition
which can bring on oppression ... which results in depression! Suddenly,
the man Elijah who was high on victory experienced the full flush of fear!

Elijah hasn't eaten anything since the
confrontation on Mount Carmel ... several days from this point in time; and
almost 370 miles of travel!
·
Since this covers several days he must
have missed some sleep to have gotten so far on so little time!
·
Loneliness, contributes to the
weariness. While he travels alone into the desert!
·
He had acted without God's direction in
this trip.
·
He did not pray about the conflict ...
he just panicked and ran!
·
He forgot all about God's other
expressions of help and goodness, he only saw the moment!
·
Made no plans for being in the desert and
no provision for survival!

Diagnostic test- why did he prayed? He was
focusing on his problem that makes him depressed >
when you are in depression; you have to focus on Jesus to overcome your
problem.

God is touching you to eliminate your depression. He gives us fresh bread, word of
nourishment.

Even the most faithful servants of God can have
times of failure and depression! At such
times God is faithful to love us and nurture us back to spiritual health.

he wanted to revive you, encourage you

40 in the bible is a testing period.

God feeds him in the desert to
strengthen him for the 40 days, 40 night trip.

This Soul Food gave him the strength for a long journey
toward God!

God sent him to a place of worship – God sent
him to Mt. Horeb, the Mt. Of God (where the Law given to Moses).

listen to each other and help one another.
