- There are seasons in our life that involve famine and devastation and then there are times of restoration. The seasons of famine have a divine purpose in our lives. Why has destruction come in our life? The answer is sin. God has sent this disaster to wake up His people from indifference.
- Joel 2:12-13 > God has put a condition to his people.
i.
The Lord says that the people must return to Him
with all of their heart. Any part of our heart that we neglect to give to God
will weaken everything that God desires to do with your life. If we don’t give
Him all, we give Him nothing.
ii.
The Lord says to return with “fasting and
weeping and mourning.” Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
iii.
He says “Rend your heart and not your garments.”
Only when our hearts are softened and open will real transformation come into
our lives and is shown in our actions.
- Joel 2:27-32 > God wants each of us to know that there is a time when He will restore in order to demonstrate His hand in our lives. He is omnipotent and he is going to pour out his spirit.
