Triumphal entry

Triumphal entry
·         Luke 19:41-44
·         John 12:13-Luke 19:41-44
·         Palm branch is a symbol of Triumph victory
1.     Jesus wept over Jerusalem.
§  Luke 19:41- Jesus show beyond the outward of Jerusalem
§  Jesus wept because of the great privileges that were being abused. He wept because of the great possibilities that were rejected. He also wept because of the great punishment he knew was coming on the city and the people. Jerusalem had abandoned its faith, rejected the Messiah, and would be laid to waste with terrible judgment. This was their day opportunity. Jesus made himself available to them, but they nailed Him to the cross.
§  He sees spiritual condition of the city.
§  Revelation 2:2- He sees beyond the outward in a church. He looks beyond your deed.
§  Every act of disobedience bring pain to God.
§  you can’t have sin & win at the same time.
§  Repentance is the only way to turn away from sin.
2.     He cares about you.
§  Luke 19:41 – He wept because He cares about people in Jerusalem.
§  Isaiah 52:3
3.     He knows your full potentials.
§  Luke 19:42
§  The reference to "this day" is emphatic and reveals that there is something about this day that makes Jesus sorrowful. But why? The reason is that "this day" had the potential to bring "things which make for peace." God gives you and reveals you your full potential of your life.
§  Psalm 139:13-16
4.     Jesus desire to give us peace.
§  Luke 19:42
§  Ironically, Jerusalem means “City of Peace.”
§  Israel's Messiah on this day could bring the kingdom and its blessings. This "peace" must be more than just individual salvation.
§  John 14:27- Jesus left the Peace that passes all understanding
§  Peace He left is a confidence that He is always with us, so we can experience peace.
§  Safety consists not in the absence of trouble BUT safety comes in the presence of Lord.

BE AN OVER COME in Jesus name.

4 Pillars of being Better Together

·        4 Pillars of being Better Together
·        Acts 2:42-47 / Hebrews 10:23-25
§  Devotion defined – love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for person, activity, or cause.
§  The Early Church was devoted to “the apostles teaching.” They were devoted to God’s word, to right teaching or doctrine, to being taught, to growing, to maturing, and to being led by the Apostles.
§  Being devoted to “the fellowship’ means being devoted to community, to life together, to loving, supporting, and encouraging one another as the people of God, as the family of God.
§  The early Church was devoted to “the breaking of bread and prayers.” While “breaking bread” might have included regular meal together.
§  That means “the breaking of bread” is more importantly a reference to the Lord’s Table, which was celebrated as part of a large community meal. So, this area of devotion focused on things like gathering together regularly, observing the Lord’s supper, worshiping together, singing, giving thanks, prayer.
§  It’s a legacy of Day of Pentecost.
§  Foundation of early Church è They devoted to prayer, fellowship, and teaching.
§  It was a course of action.
§  Because of fellowship, they could face anything.
§  It’s a care of one another.
§  When god moves, hearts will be touch, life will be changed.
§  Science and wonders will follow you.
·         Ver: 45
§  Jesus is more important than our possession.
§  Government does not meet your need. Jesus does, Church does.
·         Ver: 47
§  The key word found in both verse 41 and verse 47 “added.” Transformed lives the devotion of God’s people as the Church of Jesus.
§  Unity of the Church of Jesus Christ

What is our primary function in our life?

What is our primary function in our life?
·         John 4:23-24
·         Often, worship is the music in a corporate service that is followed by the preaching. An entire style of music has been labeled “praise and worship” to separate music from traditional hymns.
·         Jesus exposes the false assumption of worship, He guides the Samaritan woman into an amazing recognition of His glory and His mission to save people from their sins.
·         True worship erupts in the soul of one who understands that Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away sin. He is the living water that cleanses the deepest thirst of the soul.
·         When Jesus speaks to us about true worship, He invites us to explore the depths of His love through worship.
·         The Father who is omnipresent, omniscience, is lacking one thing-worship
·         The Father is looking for a true Worship.
·         The worship the Father desire is worship in spirit and in truth.
HOW DO I WORSHIP GOD?
·        Worship cannot be created.
·        Worship is a response to something è Worship is a response to His Love.
·        Ephesians 3:14-19 è I bow my knee, that is worship. AGAPE love.
·        AGAPE love- known as sacrificial love.
·        you must experience His love every day to respond back to Him to worship Him in spirit & in truth.
·        Isaiah 1:10-18 è Worship is about to experience His love everyday
1.     John 12:1-3; Mark 14:1-3è Her worship was costly
§  your worship to God must be cost you something.
2.     Mary's worship was a pleasant aroma to the God.
§  Luke 21:1-5- worship cost her something.
§  your worship should be sweet aroma if that cost you something
3.     John 12:4-6 è Mary was a public worshiper.
4.     John 12:7 è when your worship pleased God, God will stand for you, refuge for you.
5.     John 12:3b è She took her glory [ her hair] and landed down to Jesus feet.
§  Her worship was with pure heart.
§  Psalms 24:5 è When you worship with pure heart, He will give blessings in return.
6.     Mary's worship was shameful - are you ready to surrender your pride, your glory for His Glory?
§  Mark 14:9 è  it was a memorial to her.
§  Malachi 3:16-18 è  when you worship the God, that moment is recorded in the book of remembrance.
